Browsing

Browse using the filters

It is possible to browse the entire collection by using the filters in the drop-down menus underneath the search box.

To select and apply a filter, click on a drop down menu for one of the filters.

Then click on one of the criteria listed under the menu.

For example, to view all of the issues that were published in the 1960s, click on the Decade drop-down menu and then click on 1960-1969.

After the filter has been applied, the results list will be updated to display only the issues that fit the selected criteria.

The search results list will be updated after each filter has been applied.

Note: Once one or more filters have been applied, it is not possible to search by keyword. Using the search box will clear all filters!

To remove a filter, click on the X next to the filter label above the list of issues.

To remove all of the filters and start over, click the Reset Search button.

Browse using the timeline

Another way to browse the entire collection is by using the timeline.

To open the timeline view, click on the List Browsing drop down menu and then click on Timeline Browsing. The timeline tool will open above the list of issues.

Select a start and end date by adjusting the sliders on the left and right side of the timeline and then click the Submit button. The list of issues will be updated to display only those published within the selected date range. Note: Once a date range has been selected, it is not possible to search by keyword. Using the search box will clear the date range selection!

After a date range has been selected and displayed, it is also possible to refine the list by applying one or more filters.  See the section above for information on using the filters.

To start over, click the Reset button at the bottom of the timeline.
